The only way government collects a penny is through extortion and threats of violence if you do not pay them the mob protection fee- taxes. And before anyone gets their knickers in a bunch. Would you pay taxes if not for the threats? You can say yes, but then why did you file for your refund and accept it? Why not just file and let treasury keep the excess? The problem with "Democratic Socialism" is that it's virtue signaling in need of a definition. Here are two that every school child should be taught:
1) Socialism is nationalized slavery. With no individual responsibility for room and board and with 100% employment, the plantation met the very definition of a workers’ paradise.
2) Socialist promises are always lies. The 20th century is the history of the 100 million people killed for believing socialist lies.
Same old socialist mantra. Tax the rich. And yet, they never seem to be able to define who the rich really are. Same old tired worn out socialist promises that are wrapped up in ideological statements and nonsense. Nothing new here.
