Immigration and Customs Enforcement highlighted on Monday the arrest of illegal aliens from across the country who have been convicted of “heinous crimes.” The arrest includes Jorge Arturo Sanchez-Perez, an illegal immigrant from Mexico who had previously been convicted of first-degree sexual assault of a child in Omaha.
“While Americans enjoyed their weekend, the patriots of ICE worked around the clock to remove murderers, pedophiles, rapists, and other public safety threats from our communities,” Markwayne Mullin, the Secretary of Homeland Security, said in a statement announcing the arrest of Sanchez-Perez and a dozen other illegal immigrants. “Under President Trump, ICE has been unleashed to deliver the American people’s mandate to arrest and remove illegal aliens from our country. We will always put the safety of the American people first.”
Arrests over the weekend included illegals convicted of murder, pedophilia, rape, and aggravated assault. The department said in its release that “If you are in our country illegally, we will find you, arrest you, and deport you.”
Sanchez-Perez was convicted of sexually assaulting a minor in 2019 and sentenced to 15-25 years. He was released from prison on Friday.
