Mayor Baird is a cunning racist. DEI is categorically racist. It's soul criteria are the accidents of nature, e.g., race and gender. She's simply put kinder, gentler terms on old Jim Crow laws. Props to the Plains Sentinel for calling this out. When the city announced the crime statistics for 2025 a couple of months ago, the administration, local media and the noisy leftist sycophants all hailed the overall reduction in crime, totally ignoring the drastic increase in violent crime. Nothing since has come from City Hall or the media concerning any focused effort to reverse this trend. In fact, all who could/should work to turn this around continue to pretend it doesn't exist. This destructive pox on the city has rendered the streets of Lincoln no longer safe. She's succeeding in turning Lincoln into a shithole leftist enclave, modeled after her home of San Francisco while her cheering section applauds her.
