Nebraska's unicameral legislature is nonpartisan on paper, but it has behaved in a partisan manner for the 32 years I lived there. Most senators have identifiable partisan leanings, and the party organizations remain very much alive.
I appreciate Nebraska's independent spirit, but I don't agree that it "saved the country" by electing independents. Nebraska's reforms were built through coalitions and institutions, not by bypassing them.

An interesting read. At least he has verifiable, concrete plans; whether or not they make his candidacy viable they add to the conversation.
FYI, he is gay and in a domestic partnership.
