The Plains Sentinel Adds Writing Fellow to Growing Newsroom
We are excited to announce the addition of Lewis Thune as the newest member of The Plains Sentinel team. Lewis is joining us as a writing fellow this summer, where he will help with daily reporting, investigative work, and coverage of public meetings across the state.
Lewis is a Nebraska native and a magna cum laude graduate of Hillsdale College. At Hillsdale, he developed skills in print and broadcast journalism, serving as a Washington D.C. Correspondent and Assistant Opinions Editor for The Hillsdale Collegian.
During his time at college, he hosted a radio show, which was awarded 2026 Best Sportscast by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. Prior to his fellowship with The Plains Sentinel, he worked in arboriculture in Omaha and interned in the Washington, D.C. office of Senator Deb Fischer.
We look forward to sharing Lewis’s work this summer as The Plains Sentinel continues to grow and expand our coverage of Nebraska news, politics, and culture.
