We're Hiring: Freelance Writers and Summer Intern
The Plains Sentinel is seeking freelance writers to contribute reporting and analysis on news, politics, and culture in Lincoln and across greater Nebraska.
Freelancers will work with our editor to develop story ideas, report on emerging issues, and produce original journalism ranging from breaking news and feature stories to accountability and investigative reporting. Writers with a strong knowledge of Nebraska communities, state and local government, and regional trends are especially encouraged to apply.
Interested candidates should email a brief note of interest, a resume, and any relevant writing samples to John Gage at johngage@plainssentinel.com
Summer Writing Internship
The Plains Sentinel is also hiring a summer intern. The internship is intended for college-aged students seeking practical news writing experience. The selected intern will assist with reporting, research, and writing assignments while gaining exposure to the day-to-day operations of a growing Nebraska news outlet.
Applicants for the summer internship should submit a cover letter and resume to John Gage at johngage@plainssentinel.com
The Plains Sentinel is committed to covering the people, institutions, and ideas shaping Nebraska’s future and welcomes applicants who are motivated to pursue fair, rigorous, and principled journalism. Our Founding Statement can be read here.
